EMG Automation GmbH from Wenden in the Sauerland region donates 7,500 EUR for disaster relief in the Altenahr municipality. Dr. Rolf Merte, CEO of EMG, presented the cheque to Georg Knieps, first councillor of the municipality, in Altenahr today.

EMG turned 75 in 2021. In this context, it was decided that the company would donate EUR 7,500 to a good cause. At the end of last year, the employees were able to vote on where the donation should go. A large majority voted for the flood victims of the Ahr valley.

Dr Merte explains: "The vote of our staff shows: We have not forgotten the suffering and the victims of this enormous natural disaster. Today I was able to see for myself on site that even months after the terrible floods, all help is still needed. Our anniversary donation is urgently needed here and comes from the heart."

Georg Knieps emphasises: "We are delighted about the solidarity that many people from all over Germany are expressing in different ways. I would like to sincerely thank EMG for their donation. It shows that even about half a year after the disaster we are still being remembered. I am very grateful for that."
